Mike Gminski: Refs could influence bets!
Mike doesn't say that the dirty NBA ref bet on who would win, but that it could have been on the over-under the number of points. I know that's bad, but it will be a lot better than if we find out he did determine the winner, and not just the score, of a basketball game.

Stewart bags Brickyard win in dominating fashion!
It looks like Tony is getting ready to make a run at a Third Championship. This is his second win in a row and he is always better in the second half of the season. I sure hope he wins the Championship.

Q&A With Panthers defensive tackle Kris Jenkins

Morgan's head still in the game.
I hope that is still the case in December. He is a very good linebacker, bordering on great in my opinion, if healthy. I sure hope that he doesn't get that 6th concussion.

Vick co-defendant strikes deal | ajc.com
The Atlanta Journal and Constitution is reporting that one Vick's buddies is going to strike a deal with the government on Monday. The paper reports that this could be very bad for Michael Vick. It looks like the backstabbing is about to begin among the Vick Entourage.

Jake will get mojo again this season.
I hope that Scott Fowler is right that Jake gets his swagger back. I know last year, he was so bad that we had to use Chris Weinke. I think that Jake has more pressure than ever on him, because David Carr is a better QB than Weinke.
I know that we can't put all the blame on Jake, because the offensive line had some major injuries. The line seemed to change throughout the year, which results in no continuity for that group.
I think the Panthers will be better if a few things happen.
1. Jake and the Offensive Line perform better.
2. Dan Morgan can play most of this year. It has always been amazing how much difference he makes to our defense. It's just a shame that he has had to deal with concussions throughout his career, and one more may result in the end of his career.
3. The Secondary most play better. Gamble, Lucas, Minter need to return to their 05 level.
In Conclusion, we are in an odd year 07, and the panthers have done well the last 2 odd years. In 03, we reached the Super Bowl and in 05, we reached the NFC Championship Game. In 07, time will tell.

Panthers head to camp without hefty expectations.
This is so true after last year. It was one year ago when SI had us defeating the Dolphins in the Super Bowl. How times have changed.

Spurrier Goals this Year!
I hope that the Gamecocks can reach their goal of an SEC Championship. I know we are better than ever, but I guess it still seems like a dream to even consider competing for a SEC Championship in football.

Great Article on ACC Football and Expansion
The article shows that the ACC has some work to do to be an elite Football Conference. I wish Duke could help out, but they seem to show no interest in improving the Football program.

Vick's future on field to be determined quicky.
I know this is a horrible photo, but I thought it was appropriate to show what "dog fighting" is all about. I think that he should be suspended until the trial is over. It's no different than Coy Privette who has been suspended from some of his roles why they investigate his charges. We have many jobs where you are suspended until the legal issues are resolved (teachers, police, etc).
I hope the Falcons and the NFL will do the right thing and not allow him to play until this is cleared up in the courts.

Vick indicted in dog fighting case
the day has arrived. The Feds finally have indicted Michael Vick for Dog Fighting. I have heard some of the accusations on ESPN Radio tonight, and it is disgusting the things they did to the dogs.
I'm not a "PETA" fan or some of the extreme "Animal Rights" group, but I do believe that we should treat animals with respect. I had to go out and give Pixy and Dietrich a treat when I got home from Atlanta tonight. I figured they needed a hug and a treat :)
I know that we are "innocent until proven guilty" in our judicial system but in the court of public opinion, that can be more difficult to deal with. It should be interesting where this goes from here.

Morrison, Redick set to forget expectations and just play.
I sure hope for our Bobcats that Morrison does play better than last year, but he may have trouble with our new lineup. Jason Richardson, Matt Carroll, Walter Hermann, and company may keep him on the bench.
JJ may have an easier time as Dwight Howard requires double teams and he may be open for "threeeeeeee". Let's Go Duke!

Federer Makes It 5 Straight at Wimbledon!!!
What an amazing match!!! I got home from church with Federer leading in the first set 4-3. I watched it to the end, and it reminded me of the classic Borg-McEnroe match in 1980 (yes, I did see that match live on TV also). I was pulling for Nadal, and I thought he was going to pull off the upset. He had Federer down 15-40 twice in the fifth set, but could not close the deal. It was a great match and maybe it will give tennis another boost in popularity.
There was some good news for American Men at Wimbledon. The Junior champion was an 17 year old from the USA and hopefully that will help us in the future.

McMurray claws his way back, beats Kyle Busch by inches
I'm not a huge race fan, but I've always enjoy watching Daytona and Talladega races. It amazes me how fast they go so bunched up (thank you restrictor plates) and the big wreck is just moments away. I was upset when my favorite driver, Tony Stewart, got caught up in one of those "accidents". I left the race on, and the finish was awesome. I was actually pulling for Kyle Busch (since he lost his ride to Jr) and could not believe that a Ford could win the race. It was a true photo finish.

Vick's Property Searched
I am still shocked to see that people are defending this as "it's just dogs". I know that dogs are not on the same level as humans, but to read the things they were doing to the dogs, it just evil. I know that God gave man dominion over God's creation, but I do not believe that it gives us the right to abuse any part of God's Creation.
It seems that if Vick will be charged, it will come on the federal level. It sounds like the local authorities are in Vick's corner on this. I had heard on Atlanta Sports radio about how the local authorities would not allow this search last month, but with him on vacation the feds came in. Sweet.

Panthers lineman says race played role in arrest
I get very tired of always hearing the "race" card used by everyone. The officer could not see who was inside the car, since the tint was 8.8 (according to the article). The player is a deputy in La, so he should know better to use this tactic.

Richardson warming up to trade to Bobcats
This is great news. I was beginning to worry after reading articles about how upset he was with the trade. I think the Bobcats may make a run at a playoff berth this year if we can stay healthy. Let's Go BOBCATS!!! I'll have to purchase my first bobcat shirt this fall.
